Absinthe and Venus Over Manhattan, À rebours

When I stepped off the elevator at 980 Madison Avenue,
I knew right away, this was going to be different.
The absence of light and where light was coming from,
quickly focused my attention, as we walked down the hall.
We were greeted by two young women who checked our unessential
items and we were cordially ushered into the Gallery.

I immediately had the impression I had walked onto the
movie set of Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut".

Adam Lindemann has created a Cathedral-like exhibition space.
A fine departure from brightly lit, white wall galleries.

Wednesday, May 9th, collector and art writer, Adam Lindemann launched his new gallery Venus Over Manhattan. The exhibition "A Rebours" is a group show and features over 50 art and artifacts, including works by Salvadore Dali,
Odilon Redon, Jeff Koons and Gavin Kenyon. The show opens to the public tonight and runs until the end of June.

This exhibition has a beautiful, Eire, grotesque quality and drips sensuality.

Mixologist Teo Corillo was on hand to concoct Absinthe, staight and in cocktails.

Absinthe is known for it's hallucinogenic and aphrodisiac effects.

Absinthe was among Salvadore Dali's favorite drinks.

So went the Absinthe...

Bronze Chair on fire.

Laura Eastwood stopped over to say hello.
