PATRICK SHOEMAKER @ ANNA ZORINA GALLERY

Patrick Shoemaker's
"FIRE ON FIRE" is currently on exhibition at the Anna Zorina Gallery.
Shoemaker's works draw inspiration from mythology and lore,
rooted in American History and folk art.

While relying on contemporary vernacular, his paint handling
and use of color is unmistakably his own.

The paintings often depict people, animals and plants.

These accessible images are transformed into something intangible
and unreal by placing them in a familiar yet ambivalent context.

DAVID WELKER Subconscious Narratives

Hoerle-Guggenheim presents
David Welker's  SUBCONSCIOUS  NARRATIVES
Welker brings up depictions from the labyrinth corridors of his imagination.
His studies are not isolated to one brief instant but instead capture the turmoil of forms transitioning in the mind from moment to moment.
November 19, 2015 through January 9, 2016

Hoerle-Guggenheim Gallery, 527 West 23rd street, NYC.

"My imagination hovers in a space devoid of temporal constraints
or physical permanence. This is the conceptual DNA of "Subconscious
Narratives"--an exploration of the cloudy impressions leading up to
and receding from a fabricated instance."
