Haunch of Venison, offers up two interesting artists.
A Project Room by Marlene Mocquet, features new work by the artist.
It includes four paintings and two ceramic works.
The exhibition opened Thursday May 17th and will run through June 16th.
concurrent with a solo exhibition at the gallery by Japanese artist
Chihara Shiota.

Mocquet's works depict whimsical fantasy of childlike beings and creatures,
the paintings morph into a macabre, phantasm world, induced hallucination.

features a diaphanous figure gathering apples in a candy-colored landscape.
Chiharu Shiota
Shiota's "boxed" thread works, encapsulate personal found objects,
in black thread. Shiota's exhibition will run concurrently at the gallery
with Projectroom by Marlene Mocquet.
Shiota's large scale window installations, made entirely of found window
frames from East Berlin.
The windows are salvaged and recycled from demolition sites, deserted
buildings etc. are layered and combined to create a hollow structures lit from
within.
