WENDELL CASTLE @ R & COMPANY & WANTED DESIGN

R and Company is pleased to present an exhibition of

Wendell Castle's iconic works vintage designs from the 60's and 70's.
The show features many of Castle's colorful plastic pieces as well
as his stack laminated hard wood works.

Wendell Castle is an American furniture artist and a leading figure
in American craft. He is often credited with being the father 
of the art furniture movement.

His bold and graceful pieces, often organic and sometimes
whimsical, are crafted from rare and beautiful hard woods, plastics,
veneers and metals in a timeless contemporary style.

Castle has continued to develop and refine his sensibilities. 
Castle establishes tension within his pieces which he resolves with
innovation, wit and grace.

by Dutch designer Joris Laarman.

Laarman's works are a testament to the seismic impact
of digitization on the design world. Laarman employs cutting edge
tools to enable new shapes, his enduring signature is manifested 
through his technology and craftsmanship.
