DOMINIQUE PAUL @ CHASHAMA CHELSEA

Migration of the Arthropods
A solo exhibition by Montreal photographer-artist, Dominique Paul
 at Chashama Chelsea, July 25 - August 4, 2013

Chashama Chelsea, 303 Tenth Avenue, NYC.
www.chashama.org

Dominique Paul presents four video loops and photographs
documenting her artistic journey as she prepares for Global Warming.

During this process she builds wearable structures  with recycled
plastic bottles and various containers in order to transform herself into
an insect, a species that will survive the climate change.

With the floating apparatus, she is ready to enter the water.

Paul proposes a reversal of Kafka's Metamorphosis - where becoming
an insect is a tragedy - and presents it here as a strategy or a way to adapt.
